RolesWhat you should know about the roleResponsible for providing accounting support in financial accounting areas including but not limited to general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and accounts payable. Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.   • Self-manage your own work-flowand day-to-day tasks.
  • Work with numbers from a variety of sources
  • Be a part of a collaborativeteam and/or work independently on researching and reporting needsMajor Duties
    • Assist with the processing of transactional areas of the accounting department including but not limited to share drafts, wire transfers, ATM balancing and adjustments, accounts payable, ACH balancing and adjustments, credit union checks or money orders.
    • Assist with maintaining accurate credit union accounting records by maintaining adequate transaction documentation and timely reconcilement of general ledger accounts.
    • Balance daily share draft reports and process the daily share draft exceptions report.
    • Balance daily corporate draft activity with the corporate draft issued and paid reports.
    • Research and resolves deposit charge-backs, cash advances, non-image deposit items.
    • Keep assigned general ledgers in balance and provide accurate and timely general ledger reconciliations.
    • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the National ACH Association, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Follows established company policies and procedures, including but not limited to: Sarbanes Oxley controls, Business Ethics and Standard of Conduct, Electronic Communications, Confidentiality and Privacy.Physical RequirementsPerform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must by capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.Working ConditionsMust be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.Mental and/or Emotional RequirementsMust be able to perform job functions with supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Work involves personal contact with customers and others inside and outside the organization, generally regarding fairly routine matters for the purposes of giving and obtaining information or instructions, updating or referring. Communications require shorter and not in-depth discussions most of the time.Other Skills
      • Intermediate use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook
      • Capable of handling multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional organization and detail accuracy
      • Self-motivated in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines as assigned.
      • Good communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
