BY: Reception Team Leader # JOB SUMMARY ##### Provides support with
the daily actives of a medical office by performing the following
duties and other duties as assigned. #Work schedule is variable
including days (majority), evenings and weekends.# May be asked to
work holidays and/or overtime. # ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES # Answer phones, takes and relays messages Enters
messages and prescription refills in the EPIC system Reads and
responds to Patient MyChart Messages Sorts postal and interoffice
mail for distribution Makes appointments for patients Checks in
patients for appointments verifying and updating demographic,
guarantor and insurance information Registers new patients# in our
computer system Works closely with Registration Specialists to
ensure all patients have an accurate registration in the billing
system# Collects co-payments and works with PFC#s for self-pay
payments as needed Balances cash drawer and fills out the cash
drawer logs Work referral work queues to call patients and schedule
appointments and link referrals to appointments Makes public
address and announcements as instructed Pages personnel as
necessary Able to properly call in a #Code# to switchboard and
abled to announce #Codes# properly while working in switchboard
room and if an alarm sounds, the Switchboard Operator will
immediately contact Mercyhealth East Administration. It should be
noted that the Fire Alarm Board automatically contacts the Fire
Alarm Company wherein the Facilities Manager is contacted for

SKILLS AND ABILITIES Previous reception or medical facility
experience preferred. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced
environment. Keyboarding efficiency at 35 wpm required. Computer
knowledge preferred. Appointment and demographic programs utilized.
