Job Description Job Description Maintenance Technician The
Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing,
and improving production equipment within a plastic injection
molding environment. This role focuses on machine upkeep, mold
readiness, electrical troubleshooting, and supporting continuous,
efficient manufacturing operations. This is a Direct Hire position
located near Itasca, IL. Key Responsibilities Perform mold changes,
mold setups, and mold tear?downs according to production needs.
Inspect molds for wear, surface defects, leaks, and alignment
issues. Conduct mold repairs and preventative maintenance to
minimize downtime. Work closely with process technicians and
tooling teams to resolve mold?related issues. Maintain
documentation of mold performance, maintenance, and repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair injection molding machines, auxiliary
equipment, thermolators, dryers, grinders, and conveyance systems.
Perform mechanical adjustments, hydraulic repairs, and pneumatic
troubleshooting. Conduct routine and preventive maintenance to
maximize equipment reliability. Assist with equipment
installations, calibrations, and machine startups. Diagnose and
repair electrical issues including sensors, heaters, relays, PLC
inputs/outputs, and wiring faults. Read and interpret electrical
schematics and wiring diagrams. Ensure all electrical work follows
safety regulations and plant standards. Support startup quality
checks after mold changes or equipment repairs. Follow all safety
protocols related to lock?out/tag?out, energized equipment, and hot
surfaces. Maintain a clean, organized work area and contribute to
5S initiatives. Respond to maintenance work orders and urgent
equipment failures quickly. Collaborate with production, process
engineering, and tooling departments to resolve technical issues.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and usage records for parts,
repairs, and downtime events. Qualifications 2 years of experience
in maintenance within a manufacturing or injection molding
environment preferred. Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and
pneumatic troubleshooting skills. Experience with mold setup or
mold maintenance in plastic injection molding. Ability to read
blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics. Strong
problem?solving skills and ability to work independently or as part
of a team. Job Details: Direct Hire 100% onsite Pay $28-$38 an hour
