A full-time special education teaching opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year in Chicago, IL, supporting 4th and 5th grade students through a coteaching model in a K-12 school setting. This contract position focuses on delivering specialized instruction within the general education classroom to enhance learning outcomes for students with diverse needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide coteaching support in 4th and 5th grade classrooms, collaborating closely with general education teachers. Manage individualized educational plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. Implement evidence-based instructional strategies to foster academic growth and social-emotional development. Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development sessions. Maintain accurate records related to student progress and compliance documentation. Qualifications: Valid professional teaching licensure in Special Education, meeting Illinois state requirements. Proven experience working in a coteaching environment with elementary school-aged students. Strong knowledge of special education laws, accommodations, and best practices. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams and families. Ability to adapt instruction for both onsite instruction and potential virtual support as needed.
