Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A Special Education teacher is needed to support students across grades K-12 in a dynamic school setting in Chicago, IL. This contract position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in self-contained, resource, and special day classrooms. The role is suited for educators passionate about delivering individualized instruction and fostering inclusive learning environments for students with diverse needs. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction to students with individualized education plans (IEPs) across various grade levels (K-12). Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students in self-contained and resource classrooms. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff to enhance student learning and social development. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Maintain accurate records and comply with district and state special education policies. Qualifications: Active State Special Education teaching license is required. Experience teaching special education students in grades K-5, 6-8, or 9-12 preferred. Ability to manage self-contained, resource, and special day classroom settings effectively. Strong communication and organizational skills. Commitment to promoting inclusive education and supporting students with exceptional needs.
