Primary Responsibilities: Model a high energy, world-class service and sales culture within the credit union. Responsible for all aspects of the Marketing department, including strategic goals and daily production. This includes using creative talents to develop, produce and maintain the credit union's brand identity. Will plan the direct marketing of the credit union's products and services through various channels. Utilizes both internal and external relationships to strengthen and promote the credit union's philosophy and strategic vision. Develop and implement First Community Credit Union's social media strategy to develop brand awareness, generate inbound traffic, and generate leads. Moderate, monitor and inspire promotional communications via social media channels. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Live the First Community Credit Union Mission, Vision and Values within the organization and our communities. Provide leadership to credit union staff to maximize their performance, help advance their growth and development, and achieve the credit union's goals. Instill an energetic, world-class service and sales culture that continually strives to improve the way we serve our members. Oversee daily production within the marketing department to ensure cohesiveness among promotions and campaigns. Conduct routine meetings with staff to discuss current events and promotions, to inform employees of upcoming projects and to brainstorm innovative ideas. Develop and execute marketing plans and programs, both short and long term, to ensure the profit growth and expansion of the credit union's products and/or services. Review monthly marketing budget and discuss important budgeting strategies. Project manager: will act as project manager by assigning tasks to personnel, establishing deadlines and managing priorities. Will keep EVP of Operations abreast of timelines, campaigns and other projects. Manage marketing budget: manage daily and yearly budget by reviewing bills, managing and assigning general ledger categories, developing the yearly budget, and ensure expenses are consistent with budget constraints. Communicate budget needs and variations to the EVP of Operations. Use budget information to assist with development of future budgets. Staff development: assign tasks based on staff strengths, interests and business needs of the department. Coach employees on developing technical skills and interpersonal skills, identify growth opportunities and assist employees in developing a career path. Recommend changes in basic structure and organization of marketing group to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives assigned to it and provide the flexibility to move swiftly in relation to marketing problems and opportunities. Prepare marketing activity reports for management; including, but not limited to such matters as: marketing trends, environmental scans, new member campaigns, tracking reports on member behavior as related to product usage or signing up for new services, shared sentiment of members with regard to service satisfactions. Work with community groups, area schools and select employee groups; promotes credit union to groups to maintain a positive relationship. Seek opportunities to promote the credit union within community groups and local area businesses. Coordinate all special events; manage planning, schedule and implementation required for proper and timely execution of each event. Record each credit union event with appropriate photography to be used in marketing and public relations efforts. Keep abreast in changing rules and regulations. Create and maintain contacts in the local media with the goal of promoting First Community Credit Union through print and electronic media, especially via the company web site, social media channels and email marketing. Manage all marketing activities (print, advertising, online, direct mail, social media, etc.) Continuously monitor trends, tools, channels and strategies for changes in marketing and be proactive in making adjustments to marketing plans based on emerging technologies and outlets. Become an advocate for First Community Credit Union in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate. Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs. Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of advanced marketing and advertising techniques. Knowledge with and familiarization of the credit union philosophy. Understanding of basic financial operations of the credit union with strict goals in mind. Knowledge of and ability to participate in local community groups and activities. Skills in Microsoft Office applications, proficient in Adobe, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and digital photography. Skills in human relations to successfully train employees, appraise performance and reward and discipline. Ability to speak and conduct oneself in a professional manner when representing the credit union at civic events. Ability to be a professional, with well-developed interpersonal skills essential for managing staff and servicing credit union members. Ability to travel locally. Ability to be flexible, prioritize, organize and multi-task. Ability to give and receive constructive criticism in a positive way. Requires a high-energy, self-directed, deadline-oriented individual who has exceptional communication skills. Have in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios. Knowledge of search engine optimization basics including basic keyword research. Possess excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills. Enjoys a working knowledge of the blogging ecosystem relevant to the credit union industry. Credit union industry knowledge and experience is a plus. Eager to meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility. Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree preferred or associate's degree required in marketing, advertising, graphic design, communication, or journalism and experience in advertising and/or marketing design. Two (2) years of proven ability in a marketing position is desired. Employees must comply with government and other regulations affecting the credit union industry including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act and The USA Patriot Act.
