Ideal Background
Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor
or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building
Science or related field from an accredited university is highly
preferred.
Licensing: General Contractors License is highly preferred.
Experience: This position requires a minimum 7 years of relevant
industrial construction management or project related
experience.
Job Summary: Generally responsible forsupport on-going capital
projects from existing project manager, as well as execute new
projects for 2024. The capacity should be a hybrid of project
engineering and construction management

Physical Requirements:

equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear
plugs and hard hat.
What You'll Be Doing
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited
to:
Comply with engineering standards and standards of project
execution with employee and contractor safety as a priority
For projects being assigned that are in-progress, complete project
management and construction aspects of each project through
completion.
For new projects, assist or perform scope development, costing,
request for appropriate request requirements, work with Evonik
procurement for all materials and/or services, contractor
management, and complete construction, commissioning, and provide
operator training as needed.
It is expected the individual will meet each projects' cost and
time line as agreed upon and approved.
The engineer in the role will be responsible to communicate to all
stakeholders as prescribed.
This role will perform as the main liaison between the company and
project contractors
Familiarity with and utilizing department standards.
Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria
upon assignment to a task.
Extensive knowledge of construction safety requirements, with a
commitment to a zero accidents environment. Ability to ensure
contractor's activities are planned and executed with safety first.
Responsible for the safe performance of all contractors on the
assigned project.
Consulting with design leaders, then following up for support to
ensure efficient progress and quality of technical contractual
activities on one or more projects of various sizes.
Promoting continued relationships with clients.
Participating in field construction efforts, design phase services
and all subcontracting as well as participating in all major
technical, cost, scheduling and performance decisions.
Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes
promptly.
Providing on-site assistance during startup.
Coordinating work activities with other staff members and the
discipline lead.
Consulting with design leaders to ensure the smooth flow of vital
information necessary for the scheduled completion of the
project.
Advising the senior engineer concerning design or scope changes,
which have been identified.
Reviewing and checking vendor drawings and other discipline
drawings for input.
Reviewing construction specifications.
Reviewing fabrication drawings and other construction submittals
for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
Coordinating contractor activities to avoid lost time due to
problem resolutions or lack of direction.
Monitoring contractor resource assignments to ensure that the
correct numbers of resources are assigned to the work.
