Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Radiology Tech Lab Technician to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our Imaging and Diagnostics department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients and provide educational materials to ensure understanding.
• Transport patients to and from clinical areas, verifying patient identity according to policies and procedures.
• Assist technologists with preparing patients for radiology exams, positioning patients for procedures, and filing, delivering, and retrieving patient reports and charts.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines, preventing unnecessary radiation exposure to patients.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Monitor patient activity during procedures and report any abnormalities.
• Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, maintaining equipment functionality and reporting potential problems or malfunctions.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, laboratory work areas, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
• May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT Technologist is not on site.
• Collect, label, process, and preserve blood, urine, and other specimens according to established laboratory procedures.
• Enter, access, and execute lab orders in the appropriate laboratory and electronic medical record system.
• May perform phlebotomy and/or waived testing.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties, including admission activities, insurance verification, order entry processing, and medical record processing.Requirements
  • Completion of a radiology certification program.
  • No experience required.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Radiographer, Licensed, certification from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
