Echo Tech Location: Janesville, WI Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,640 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Cath Lab Technologist, Radiologic Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Cath Lab Technologist, Radiologic Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday through Friday Hours per Shift: 11am-7pm Experience: Minimum years of experience not specified License: Not specified Certifications: BLS required, Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Must-Have: - Associate Degree and/or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program Description: Schedule is from 11am to 7pm, Monday through Friday. On-call weekend rotation every 7 weeks may be required. Responsible for producing two or three-dimensional ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analyses of the heart and related structures for use by the Physician in diagnosing heart disease. Perform echocardiographic examinations, ensuring the quality of the examination and using clinical judgment to determine the need for additional testing. Assess, prepare, and execute echocardiographic examinations, including M-mode, 2 or 3-dimensional Doppler, transesophageal, and stress tests. Provide emotional support, physical comfort, and safety for patients and visitors. Maintain equipment and work areas in proper condition. Conduct echocardiograms per standard imaging protocol, measuring according to ASE standards. Actively work in Adult Echo, Stress, TEE, and provide call coverage, which may include some pediatric cases. Recognize arrhythmias and take appropriate actions by notifying the physician of abnormal EKG readings, including acute MI, complete heart block, wide QRS, tachycardia, or heart rates greater than 140. Assess the quality of electrocardiographic and echocardiography recordings, correcting deficiencies when possible. Document on graphic recordings if deficiencies cannot be corrected. Provide physicians with technical comments on diagnostic findings upon completing echocardiograms and discuss any discrepancies of technical comments. Document patient and procedural information completely in the patient medical record, including the patient history form. Ensure all charges are accurate and complete to a high degree. Educate patients and their families, as applicable, about procedures and document this process in the patient record. Respond appropriately to emergency situations. Utilize equipment according to established procedures and refer to manuals as needed. Notify the coordinator or manager about equipment requiring repair and processes the appropriate paperwork.
