Traveler is seeking an experienced RN to join our Critical Care
Float team, requiring ICU experience in a Level 1 trauma academic
setting and telemetry competency. Responsibilities - Work as a
Critical Care Float RN covering multiple intensive care units
including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, and Trauma
Surgery - Care for adult patient populations in an academic Level 1
Trauma Center - May be assigned to IMC, progressive care, or
general care units as needed - Night and evening shifts available
with 8 or 12-hour options, typically 7:00pm to 7:30am - Every other
weekend shifts required, with participation in a holiday rotation -
No call responsibilities are required - First to float with
potential to work in multiple units or locations based on
operational needs - Uses Epic EMR; recent experience within the
last 12 months is preferred - Provide direct, high-acuity nursing
care across a range of critical care and general care units -
Engage with a multidisciplinary team in an academic environment
focused on patient and staff development - Participate in shared
governance and support an environment of continuous learning - One
week of paid orientation is provided; orientation scheduling may
vary based on department needs - Strict passing criteria for
telemetry exam must be met prior to starting assignment - First
time travelers may be considered depending on the unit - Holiday
and weekend coverage required as part of department rotation -
Professional dress code standards and scrub requirements apply
Requirements - Active WI or compact RN license in hand at time of
consideration - Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the
American Heart Association - Minimum two years of acute care ICU RN
experience within the last three years in relevant specialties -
Previous experience working as a traveler on at least one completed
13-week assignment - Experience caring for adult patients in a
Level 1 Trauma Center required - Proficiency with Epic EMR
required, preferably within last year - Basic arrhythmia
interpretation experience required - Must pass a telemetry exam
before starting, with up to two attempts allowed - Permanent
address must be at least 50 miles from facility; local candidates
