POSITION (16-20 hours per week) Starting range: $42.00-50.00
Possibility for position to grow to full-time in future, this will
be based on business need. The ASC Pre-Admit Testing Specialist, RN
is responsible for overseeing intake, performing an initial
physical assessment, interviewing the patient to obtain medical
history, and performing tests ordered by the surgeon such as EKG
and drawing blood for lab work. The Pre-Admit Testing Specialist
works closely with the surgeon and anesthesia team to ensure the
patient is ready for surgery. Requirements: ESSENTIAL JOB
FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES Responsibilities include but are not limited
to: Gathers pertinent patient information related to the scheduled
case. Arranges collected data into the appropriate patient record.
Utilizes critical thinking in the assessment of patients.
Responsible for contacting all patients scheduled for surgery to
assess their biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and
educational status. Develops an individualized perioperative
patient plan of care. Serves as a liaison between physician offices
and the surgical team. Administers medications safely and
correctly. Assesses the knowledge level of the patient or
designated support person. Provides education regarding the
expected psychosocial response, nutritional management, medication
management, pain management, wound management, and expected
responses to the operative or invasive procedure. Actively involves
the patient or designated support person in decisions affecting his
or her perioperative plan of care and the rehabilitation process,
and discharge planning. Evaluates the patient’s progress toward
attaining outcomes. Protects the patient’s rights, dignity, and
privacy. Ensures that documentation is completed in a timely and
thorough manner, which is able to be read and understood by
clinical staff. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing
care through excellence in customer service and performance
improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in
patient care. Performs other position related duties as assigned.
Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and
will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws
and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following
the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and
Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the
confidentiality of patients' protected health information in
compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability
Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or
violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and
the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS RN license and
certification as required by state. BLS certification required,
ACLS preferred. Certified Nurse Post-Anesthesia (CAPA) preferred.
KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES Excellent verbal and written
communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention
to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Patient
focused with ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be compassionate and
personable. Basic computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
software. Previous experience with electronic Health Records (EMR
Software) required. Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient
confidentiality. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Graduate of an accredited
school of nursing, BSN preferred. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 2 years'
perioperative services experience preferred. REQUIRED TRAVEL N/A
