Job Description:
Mercyhealth System in Rockford, Illinois is currently seeking a
Full-Time Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Critical Care or Critical
Care/Pulmonary Physician to join our expanding ICU team. This is a
hybrid inpatient and outpatient opportunity within a nationally
recognized Level I Trauma Center, offering the ability to practice
high-acuity critical care while maintaining pulmonary continuity of
care. Opportunity Overview: - Full-Time Position - 2,184 annual
hours - Hybrid Model - 7 on / 7 off - Alternating Days and Nights -
12-hour shifts: - • 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. (In-house) - • 7:00
p.m.-7:00 a.m. (In-house / Tele-ICU) - Includes weekends and
holidays Opportunities available for: - Critical Care only -
Combined Critical Care/Pulmonary (Inpatient & Outpatient) -
System-wide collaboration across Northern Illinois and Southern
Wisconsin - EPIC EMR systemwide Departmental Scope: Primary
practice site: Javon Bea Hospital - Riverside Level I Trauma Center
26-bed Intensive Care Unit The ICU manages a wide range of
high-acuity patients including: - Neurocritical care - Cardiac
critical care - Trauma - Complex medical and surgical ICU cases
State-of-the-art ICU technology including: - Continuous monitoring
systems - Advanced life support capabilities - Specialized
treatment modalities - Inpatient dialysis services - Comprehensive
cardiac, vascular, peripheral, and neurovascular interventional
laboratory Recognized Excellence: In its 2025 rankings,
Healthgrades named Javon Bea Hospital-Riverside one of the Top Five
Hospitals in Illinois for Critical Care. Required Qualifications: -
MD/DO Board Certified or Board Eligible - Fellowship trained in
Critical Care or Pulmonary/Critical Care - Eligible for Illinois
medical licensure - Strong clinical expertise in high-acuity ICU
settings - Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
Compensation & Benefits: Base Salary: $470,000 to $590,000 -
