treatment solutions for water and effluents.Summary Using a variety
of methods and equipment, the Quality Technician inspects,
measures, and provides analysis used to determine if manufactured
products or goods meet quality standards. The Quality Technician is
responsible for isolating non-conforming products or materials,
documenting, and communicating non-conformances to management and
technicians. Primary Responsibilities Perform hourly quality
audits, first piece inspection for production runsGather relevant
data and produce quality reports as directed by the Lead Quality
TechnicianEnforce and follow all quality system policies and
proceduresDocument all audit findings and communicate any
non-conformances immediately to appropriate staffRead blueprints
and interpret complex 2D drawingsRead geometric dimensions and
tolerance characteristics and symbols based on ANSI/ASME
practicesVerify all measuring equipment meets calibration standards
and notify the Lead Quality Technician of any equipment requiring
calibrationProvide basic quality training to machine operators and
other production personnel to ensure that inspection activities
comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management
systemAssist senior management and the Lead Quality Technician with
quality issues identified by customers; lead initiatives in
corrective/ preventative action programsWork with manufacturing
staff to solve quality-related problemsParticipate in all
continuous improvement efforts in all aspects of qualityPerform
incoming inspection of materials and components as neededFollow
company policies as outlined in the employee handbookRegular and
predictable attendance is an essential function of this jobOther
duties as assigned Position Specifications and Requirements Two
years of on-the-job experience in the mechanical inspection or a
related quality function in the plastics industryA high-school
diploma or GED is requiredBasic proficiency with MS Office
applications, MS Word and MS Excel preferredAbility to work without
direct supervision and the work ethic to consistently complete
tasks in a timely mannerBasic knowledge of quality terms,
definitions and conceptsUnderstands basic statistical terms and
techniques, how to plot data and how to recognize out-of-control
conditions when requiredBasic understanding of Plan-Do-Check-Act
(PDCA) and the team concept for continuous improvementSignificant
experience with various types of measurement and measurement
terminology Must be able to select the appropriate measuring tools
and techniquesAbility to identify/recognize inspection errors and
initiate resolutionUnderstand the concept of calibration and/or
experience with gauge R&RAbility to read and interpret
blueprints and know definitions of critical, major and minor
characteristicsAbility to use inspection planning tools and perform
a product audit; determine the sample size for lots; pull random
samplesKnowledge of general testing methods is required and
knowledge of testing methods within injection molding or NSF/ASTM
standards is preferredAbility to identify and report nonconforming
materialUnderstand traceability (product, material and
calibration).Strong knowledge of basic mathematical operations and
performing measurement conversions; excellent cognitive skills,
excellent communication skills (verbal and written)We offer
