Community ? Be AccountableReports To CRO Position Summary The Vice
President -of Sales, Great Lakes Region is responsible for
planning, organizing, directing and executing effective sales
strategies that will meet or exceed revenue and margin targets,
drive profitable growth and professionally develop all members of
the sales and customer experience team in the Great Lakes Region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop the sales forecast and supporting KPIs for the region,
and maintain accountability for goal achievement.
- Implement corporate sales, marketing and customer experience
plans that complement the overall operating plan for the
Region.
- Participate with region leadership to develop and implement
pricing strategy to meet or exceed budget targets.
- Coach and develop all members of the sales and customer
experience organization and ensure all training needs are met.
- Meet regularly with directors and managers to review sales
activity funnel in sales, customer retention and relationship
activities, review sales performance compared to goal.
- Ensure a high level of customer experience by proactively
contacting assigned accounts to identify customer needs, changing
requirements or potential issues and resolve accordingly.
- Maintain an awareness of market behavior, competitive trends,
and economic indicators in markets across the region to anticipate
changing customer needs and develop responsive, strategic selling
and marketing plans ensuring sales volume and product mix goals are
met.
- Participate in professional associations to develop personal
network and ensure technical expertise and industry knowledge.
- Provide all required sales reports in a thorough and timely
fashion, and review with regional leadership team.
- Drive a safety first culture throughout the sales and customer
experience team. Ensure that safety audits are performed for all
new accounts in the region.
- Lead the monthly lost business reviews with regional sales and
operational leaders, improving outcomes and developing strategies
to ensure customer retention.
- Present monthly revenue and EBITDA performance of the region,
and develop plans for underperforming markets.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Critical Skills
- Travel up to 50%
- Ideal candidate has 7-10 years of leadership experience in the
waste and recycling industry.
- Bachelor degree or higher preferred.
- High caliber of leadership. Ability to foster teamwork, enlist
the support and participation of others and create and develop a
positive, motivated team.
- Self-motivated and maintains a feeling of pride in work. Has a
strong work ethic and strives to achieve all goals. Competitive,
with a strong drive to win; takes appropriate risks.
- High energy, friendly and engaging with excellent negotiation
skills. Can persuade others to change their minds or behavior.
- Has the ability to identify the information needed to clarify a
situation; seeks information from appropriate sources; has the
ability to tackle a problem using a logical, sequential approach
and can anticipate the implications of actions.
- Good written and verbal presentation skills. This job
